Membership Agreement

As a Community Interest Company we are here to benefit our community and invite you to join us.

Membership is open to anyone based in Dumfries & Galloway or further afield with an interest in the Galloway Food Hub. Whether you are a customer, a supporter, a business or an organisation if you are interested in our work and would like to join a group of people who are passionate about real food, produced sustainably from the land around us, we’d love you to join us!

Objectives of Galloway Food Hub C.I.C.

  • Improve the availability and accessibility of locally produced, sustainable food, providing a marketplace for, and increasing the resilience of, local producers and rural communities.
  • Promote and communicate the benefits of nature-friendly, regenerative farming and sustainable food production.
  • Support a good food culture where people have a better understanding of where their food comes from, and have improved opportunities to produce, share, cook and eat their own food.
  • Work cooperatively with other organisations to bring more land into small-scale agroecological production.
  • Help to grow the good food economy by supporting business development, job creation and volunteering opportunities.

Membership Agreement

  • Membership is free for both individuals and organisations.
  • Members are required to complete the application form electronically or request a paper copy by calling 07587122151.
  • Membership lasts for as long as the Galloway Food Hub is trading as a community interest company.
  • Membership can be ended at any time by written notice to hello@gallowayfoodhub.org.uk
  • All members will be invited to attend our Annual General Meeting and will be able to vote on matters arising.
  • Members are expected to positively promote the work and benefits of supporting and purchasing local good food from the Galloway Food Hub.
  • Members are welcomed to offer any skills or time they may have for volunteering for the Galloway Food Hub.
  • The Galloway Food Hub is run by a board of directors who are selected from the membership.
  • Any issues can be taken to the board for their consideration and their decision is final.
  • Any person or organisation found to be breaching the support expected from a member may have their application terminated by the board.
  • Your data is protected by GDPR and will not be shared with any other members or third parties.
  • Under section 8.1 of the company articles, should there be any debts outstanding once the company ceases trading, members would be liable to contribute up to a maximum of £1 towards costs.

Purpose, Mission and Vision

Our purpose is to enhance the local food system by creating change at a local level to increase community resilience, improve small producers’ livelihoods and decrease climate damaging impact.


Our mission is to be a social enterprise, led by local producers, enriching and educating rural communities. Improving access of good food from producers to consumers through a local and low climate impact, online supply chain. Creating climate friendly local jobs and volunteering opportunities.


Our Vision: Local, sustainable nourishing food for everyone in Dumfries and Galloway.
